Here are some somewhat random shots of drywalling. What a freakin process. It almost inspired some new poetry! I think it is the first time I entertained the idea of hiring a part of the process out.
It went from BAD (a friend described it as the worst job of drywalling he'd ever seen) to less worse, to not bad, to pretty good. Lots of sanding. Lots of drywall dust.
EO came by the other day and showed me how to skip trowel the ceiling. It looks good I think. Pics to come....
Next up is painting the ceiling, and using a sanded primer for the walls to prep for the American clay finish. Then the exterior finish stucco. Then the floor. Then the plumbing. Then the electrical. Then the kitchen cabinets. Then the deck. It sounds like a lot - but it feels like the end is in sight.
Lots of other projects going on as well - I helped with two concrete ours, we raised a straw bale cabin, I helped shingle three roofs, worked on the water line... what's going on is pretty amazing right now. 25 cabins or so being built. Maybe 20 people are here helping with it. More then ever.
